Brice Ammar-Khodja, Maison du Geste et de l’Image, from Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 April 2020 at the Mgi from 10 am to 6 pm. Restitution on Friday 17 April at 5pm.
The popularity of digital objects and the constant dematerialisation of audiovisual and information content have changed our perception of the world. These same technical objects now seem to threaten our relationship to matter and reality. Yet they also make it possible to explore new forms of artistic expression that are capable of engaging new relationships between materiality and the digital world, rationality and poetry, experimentation and dreaming.
In this workshop, participants were encouraged to create multimedia installations by exploring different creative processes and means of expression such as experimental video, video-mapping, image, sound, light, folding, drawing, staging and volume. By producing a series of “moving light sculptures”, the participants worked in teams to imagine and construct in a very free way narratives exploring the relationship between materials and the moving image.
The result is the product of several archived experimental installations (video, photo, etc.) and presented to visitors. The objective was not to produce personal “finished objects”, but to understand how to conceive a common work, give it meaning and confront it with an audience.
